It’s embarrassing. Your buddies try to give you all sorts of advice… nothing really helps.
You miss a lot of shots because the low point of your swing does NOT intersect the ball and the ground in the correct place.
To be a great ball striker, you have to build consistency in your low point control.
Most people know you want to touch the golf ball before you make contact with the ground, but how can you be certain that you made good contact?
CHECK YOUR DIVOT!
If your divot starts behind the ball, you chunked it. If your divot starts in front of the ball or doesn’t exist, you caught it thin.
Divot reading is as old as golf. When your club makes contact with the ball, the impact pushes the ball up and the clubhead down, causing you to take a divot.
Many people TRY to take a divot…
You shouldn’t try to take a divot. You aren’t trying to dig a hole.
You should try to make good contact with the ball. If you can make contact at the right place in your swing… Divots Happen.
The Divot Board is the perfect way to practice and understand your swing.
The Divot Board features an ultra durable base with industrial sequins on a replaceable mat.
At home, on a range mat, or even on grass, the Divot Board is the perfect practice partner because it gives you the instant feedback needed to ensure consistency.
Without a ball, try to swing so that you just barely make contact with the sequins. If you can tip over the sequins in the right spot each time, you can have certainty of a great swing.
Remember, you aren’t trying to thump the Divot Board, you want to understand and have certainty of the low point of your swing.
With a ball, the club will naturally go a little deeper on the Divot Board as impact with the ball forces the club down a fraction more.
The Divot Board is perfect for practicing at home… but also at the range.
Range mats lie. You can hit a fat shot on a range mat and not really know. The club bounces and glides into the ball without really punishing you. Fat shots don’t work and are embarrassing on the course.
If your range has grass, that’s great! … But until you have certainty in your low point, taking inconsistent divots out of your hitting area makes an embarrassing mess and doesn’t help you practice.
Use the Divot Board. Practice at home. Start without a golf ball. Don’t be embarrassed at the driving range anymore.
Build certainty that the bottom of your swing is in the correct place. When you can do that, you are going to flush golf balls.
